Natural Magik is suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans because unlike most Real Ales, the clarity agent Isinglass is not used to remove the yeast and clarify the beer.
Isinglass is a substance obtained from the dried swim bladders of fish. It is a form of collagen used mainly for the clarification of wine and beer. It can also be cooked into a paste for specialized gluing purposes. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isinglass)
What’s more, it is brewed in fully enclosed hygienic fermenters, without the addition of copper finings (carrageenan) and its associated solubility agents and without sulphur dioxide preservatives. This means that Natural Magik is as pure and natural as it is possible for a beer to be.
Unlike the majority of Real Ales, Natural Magik doesn’t contain any dried fish bladder.
